Bunion and Mallet toe.
What did your pain or other symptoms prevent you from doing?
My pain was pretty bad, but I would push through it and did what I wanted to do.
Why did you choose Dr. Neufeld and Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Center?
I had heard about him because I used the Foot and Ankle Center for my orthotics and the podiatrist I used worked there. He has an excellent reputation and I loved that he could use the minimally invasive surgery for me.
What procedure/treatment did you have done?
I had minimally invasive bunion surgery. I also had a mallet toe that he repaired.
How did you feel after your treatment?
I really had very little pain after the 1st 4 days. I did all of the stretches and exercises I was told to do and my recovery has been excellent. I was released after 10 weeks from doctor’s care and have full mobility. I haven’t worn dress shoes nor have I ran but that will happen soon. I still have some swelling of the foot but that is to be expected with 3 bones broken and 4 rods put into my bones. I no longer have pain in my foot and I look forward to having my other foot done.
Do you have any advice for other patients?
If the Doctor thinks he can help you, go for it. He is an amazing surgeon. Just be sure you do what they say for recovering your mobility. You will feel wonderful when you no longer feel the constant pain you had before your surgery.
